Book Review: Ever Alice by H.J. Ramsay

I received this as an eARC to read for free in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to Red Rouge Press and NetGalley for giving me access.

Title: Ever Alice
Author: H.J. Ramsay
Published by: Red Rouge Press
Publication date: August 1st, 2019
Genres: Fantasy, Retelling, Young Adult

Alice’s stories of Wonderland did more than raise a few eyebrows—it landed her in an asylum. Now at 15 years of age, she’s willing to do anything to leave, which includes agreeing to an experimental procedure. When Alice decides at the last minute not to go through with it, she escapes with the White Rabbit to Wonderland and trades one mad house for another: the court of the Queen of Hearts. Only this time, she is under orders to take out the Queen. When love, scandal, and intrigue begin to muddle her mission, Alice finds herself on the wrong side of the chopping block.

Aside from Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland is my second favorite book. When I received and ARC for Ever Alice, I jumped for joy at the thought of returning to Wonderland.

This is wonderful continuation of the original stories by Lewis Carroll. Ramsay does a great job of making you feel like you are back in the Wonderland we all grew up loving. There were twists that I didn’t see coming and that ending was perfect!

I’m happy to add Ever Alice to my collection!

As the Red Queen would say, “Off with their heads!”

Rating: 5 out of 5.
